by Mr green 665The best on IOS!

I have used this for about a month now and it just keeps getting better and better. My only complaint I had before was that your racing name was unknown however after this most recent update as well as asking them, they added in the ability to personalise the app! It’s a must buy and works so well. Incredible!

by MricartrGreat app, fast resposnse and no lag

Great extra option for the F1 game. Easy to set up and work perfectly with no lag or anything

by csconleeWorks perfectly

Make sure to install the Day 1 Patch of the Game (Version 1.02 or newer) to be able to use the F1 2020 Protocol.

Open the entry 'Telemetry Settings'

Adjust the UDP Telemetry settings

Set 'UDP Telemetry' to: ON

Set the 'IP-Address': to the IP Address of your Android device

You can find the Ip Address of your Android Device in the Instructions Dialog, which you can open if you click on this button in the red menu bar of the App:

Set the Port to 20777.
The Sendrate should be set to 20Hz
Make sure to set the Format to 2020

Please note: The game starts to send data not before the race is started.

Please note: If multiple devices in the network should receive the data, you can configure UDP Forwarding in the App to send data to your other devices

Not working?

If you are running F1 2020 with one of the UDP compatibility formats (2019, 2018, Legacy):In the My Team Mode no(!) data is provided by the Game if running in compatibility mode, becuase the old protocols only support 20 Drivers. The My Team Mode requires 22 Drivers, so the F1 2020 Format is required.

This is no limitation of the App.Official comment by Codemasters:My Team allows an extra team to race – this means that all the places in the packets where 20 cars were used, 22 are now needed. N.B. this will not be fixed in old formats (2019, 2018, legacy) – if you are in the “My Team” career mode with any format other than 2020 specified, no data will be output. All other game modes will function as before

Checklist for general Issues

Make sure that you can answer every of the following Checklist entries with yes. Click on the entries to get more detailed instructions for some of the steps:

If you have configured everything as described on this help page:

  • Start a Race
  • Wait until the starting lights are off and the car is moving
  • Have a look at the App

Does the App says its running?

If it says it's running, you are fine. Add some Widgets and start using the App.
If it says not running, continue with Step 2.

The Playstation/Xbox needs to be able to communicate with the Android Device. The easiest setup is if you connect both to the same Wifi.
If your Playstation/Xbox is connected via LAN Cable, make sure that your Router allows communication between wired and wireless devices.
Also, disable any type of Guest Wifi Functionality (these usually prevent communication between devices)

Come back here once both devices are connected to the same Network and continue with Step 3 afterwards.

Open the Telemetry Settings of the Game as described above.

F1 2020 Telemetry

  • Set UDP Telemetry to ON
  • Set UDP Broadcast Mode to OFF
  • Set the UDP IP Address to the IP Address of your Android device as it is shown in the App or in the Wifi Settings of your device

You can find the Ip Address of your Android Device in the Instructions Dialog, which you can open if you click on this button in the red menu bar of the App

  • Set UDP Send Rate to 20Hz
  • Set UDP Format to 2020

Still not working? Continue with Step 4 then.

Make sure that you are running at least Version 1.03 of the Game (this is the Day 1 Patch that has been published)

If it's still not working after the Update, continue with Step 5 afterwards.

Make sure that there is NO Error Icon in the red menu bar:

If you see this icon: Click on it to see what type of Error the App has detected and fix it.

Still not working? Continue with Step 6.

That sounds a little bit strange, but a lot of devices and Software is involved, so give them a restart:

  • Restart your Playstation/Xbox. This shuts down the game and the Network Stack
  • Restart your Router. Make sure that the Ip Address of the Android Device is still the same afterwards, otherwise update the game settings to the new Address
  • Restart LAN Switches if you have one between your Playstation/Xbox and the Router
  • Restart the Phone/Tablet. This resets the Network Stack and restart the Application.

Still not working? Continue with Step 7.

Open the Configuration Website of your Router and check if Guest Mode is Off and your Devices are allowed to communicate with each other

Still not working? Continue with Step 8

Go to the Telemetry Settings of the Game again and select an older UDP Format (e.g. 2019, 2018, ...).
In the App select the corresponding Game Entry (e.g. F1 2019, F1 2018, ...).

Still not working? If you got some additional hardware, try another Android Device or another Router (connect Android Device and Playstation/Xbox to the other Router)

  • In F1 2019 no Driver names were available in Multiplayer sessions, due to privacy concerns on the Playstation and Xbox Platform
  • In F1 2020 Basic Support for Multiplayer Names is available

What does Basic Support mean?

The game still does not provide names directly during a Race (Great would be: Driver 1 is called TZdriver1, Driver 2 is called LulGforce. Unfortunately that is not provided.).
Instead it provides the names of all Drivers while you are in the Multiplayer Lobby.
Ok, so where is the problem?Sim racing telemetry - f1 2020 schedule
The problem is that there is only a list of driver names with their nationality and the selected team, but no information which driver is driving which car.

Racing Telemetry

.
  • As long as the two drivers in one Team have a different nationality the app can guess who of those two is driving which car
  • If the two drivers in one Team have the same nationality the app cannot know who is who, so the driver name of the cars of that team will be shown as L. Hamilton and V. Bottas or whoever are the original Drivers of that Team's Cars

You can still tap on the driver name to change it manually
